JOO HONG disassemble October 11 - 19, 2008 Reception: Saturday, October 11th, 7-9pm
Yeon Joo Hong's explores spatial relations by working with commonplace materials such as wood, fabric, string, stones, distressed paper, cardboard, and thumbtacks. By applying arbitrary rules to her arrangements, she creates sculpture and installations that reference the typical functions of these materials in unconventional ways. Hong received her BFA from The Korean National University of Arts Seoul Korea in 2004 and an MFA from The Korean National University of Arts Seoul Korea in 2006. She is currently working on an MFA at Art Center College of Design in Studio Art Department. She has exhibited at Knua Gallery (2002), Gallery126 (2003), and Gallery175 (2004 & 2007).
