HOLIDAY BENEFIT 2007
Friday, December 14th, 2007 8PM, Benefit starts at 9PM
PICTURES FROM THE OPENING

Well it is that time of year again. A time to make merry, to gather with friends and strangers, perhaps to avoid the family or take the family to an art happening. Definitely it's a time to recognize that art is important. A time to see what others like to make. It’s Giving time!!!

Proceeds go towards fixing the electric in the gallery and making it up to code and hopefully less inclined towards smoking outlets and power fluctuations as well as fire. Being that this is a safety issue, it’s a top priority. Some funds may need to go towards fixing the plumbing, as currently our sinks and toilets may be flooding our lovely market friends on the corner and we wish to contribute to helping them fix the pipes. I am also dreaming of implementing an official mailing list, which I would like to pay someone to set up for the gallery. Any remaining funds will be put towards a fund for hiring help to go non-profit.

Who is giving work?

Confirmed as of this moment (in no particular order): Emily Joyce, Mark Allen, Machine Projects, Patrick Marcoux, Ben White, Kelly White (no relation to Ben), Miriam Nöske, Clay Chaplin, Suzanne Adelman, Ismael de Anda, Kent Hammond, The Suitcase Show, Brad Eberhard, Brian Mallman, May Jong, Chris Bassett, Amy Blount Lay, Matt MacFarland, Jason Kunke, Lauren Hartman, Lara Bank, Tyler Waxman, Dwyer Kilcollin, John Fishback, Amy Green, Gustavo Rincon, Heidi Kidon, Aaron Drake, Matt Wardell, Julie Adler, Timory Dodge, Adam Overton, Haruko Tanaka, Leah Morelli, Ken Uhrlich, Karl Erickson, Roger Dickes, Steven Anderson, Nicole Antebi, Constance Kocs, Luciano Perna, Sean Gall, David Stone, Pam Jordan, and more...

RECLAMATION THROUGH LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE REPLANTING PROJECT
We have a live tree this year. What will be done with the live tree?

This is going to become TREE SPACE, a new annex to Sea and Space where art can be placed upon or interact with the tree. I am looking for suggestions in terms of analyzing the best spot for relocation for the live tree that makes the most sense in terms of affecting Highland Park. If you have any suggestions please send an email to info@seaandspace.org. I would love some help. In my mind this is a space for us all to make our local environment into an art location. Tree Space can belong to everyone and could expand to eventually become Forest Space.
